Headteacher's welcome
Welcome
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all children, parents, families, friends and members of the local community who are central to the life of St John the Baptist CEVA Primary School. Our whole school community values the contribution every child brings to our school, which makes our school a happy and harmonious place to learn and work. Our mission statement: ‘United we strive for excellence-Together we shine!’ underpins all we do at St John the Baptist.
We are a very small school in the village of Pebmarsh, set in the heart of the Essex countryside, serving the children and parents of Pebmarsh, Alphamstone and Lamarsh. We also have children from Earls Colne, Halstead and Sudbury areas.
Our friendly, dedicated staff have high expectations which are equally supported by parents and the Governing Body. Walking around the school at any time, you will see happy children and busy classrooms as pupils and staff learn together. We want all children to achieve the highest possible standards and make maximum progress in relation to their prior learning. We want children to enjoy acquiring and using knowledge and skills to question and explore, to develop positive attitudes, to gain independence and become lifelong learners. We pride ourselves on being fully inclusive, meeting the needs of every individual, and aim to produce pupils that feel safe, happy and confident.
We are extremely proud of our school and I feel privileged to be the Interim Headteacher. If you would like to visit, we will be very pleased to meet you!
